Black In America 2
Was really interesting. I watched the whole thing with my mom. I had another insomniatic night, but my mom came and joined me at around 4 and we had another incredibly peachy talk. I love herr :)
Anyways, all this gets me thinking about Society.
- People have to really decide for themselves what is superficial and what isn’t. Random example? Say a girl doesn’t have a huge rack, and it bothers her. Is she superficial for being bothered? UM NO. Breasts are part of womanhood. It’s natural and beautiful, and not having them when you want to is pretty much only expected to feel shitty. It’s not superficial….stupid society.
- People have to realize that as bad as things are right now for us, things could be SO much worse. They will get better…they will. So let’s stick together as a country and not start fighting amongst ourselves. Please?
- Stereotypes really are hellish. Please stop them. They are killing my spirit.(well, not quite, but it hurts like fuck.) I can see a little easier now why people freak over them so much, why they get scared of another holocaust. But I don’t think that’ll happen. There isn’t a smart enough asshole to pull that off, I hope….
Well back to my joy of playing the Sims 3.
If you haven’t seen any of CNN’s Black In America series, you should. There’s only 2 of them, but I think it’d be great for those of any race to watch and understand. Black is not just a color, not just a race, but it is beautiful. Let me add to the society rant.
- People need to stop acting like everyone agrees that race doesn’t matter. It doesn’t, but it has to so many people in the past and has made such a huge difference in the country that when people act like everything is okay and equal it pisses me off. I’m not speaking stereotypically, I’m speaking of things that involve ratios, records, pain, and significance.
But that’s for another blog, darling.
I love you :D
